Hello :)

Welcome to my website! My name is Miss Jeanine and I am passionate about sharing my love for music, musical instruments, and music history with children and grown-ups alike! I am a native of NYC, and have degrees in both music and theatre. I am a singer/multi-instrumentalist who has taught music to children from ages 3 months to 18 years old and has been playing music since the age of 4. Over the years I have led multiple weekly mommy/baby, mommy/toddler and preschool music classes, children's birthday parties, and a youth group band.

I have also performed children's music at various family friendly events as a solo artist as well as in a children's focused rock band. In addition, I ran a music program in a private elementary school in Los Angeles with my husband Chris, taught after-school music, art, dance, and drama classes, and gave private music lessons. I also have an independent rock band with him that currently plays all over Central Florida, but have previously toured both nationally and internationally.

We now live in Daytona Beach, are the proud parents of Jack, our 5 year old son, and have 5 cats and a dog named Ruby, Max, Chevy, Shelby, Spooky, and Rusty.

Currently, I teach 5 mommy and me style baby and toddler music classes in Volusia County and 1 in Flagler County. I look forward to seeing you in a class soon!

Class Descriptions

Toddler Music Class: for ages 16 months-5 years: In this class both children and their grown-ups learn about a different style of music each week from various cultures- including ours. I incorporate familiar, educational, energetic movement songs with and without the guitar teaching rhythm, and melody where we jump up and down, teach about colors, and numbers, find on a map where the music we are learning about is from, note values, and the history about the music we are learning about. I also have a rotation of various rhythmic instruments to play to the actual style of music (not a children's version) that I bring in each week as well as an instrument that is heard in the style of music we are learning about to learn about, touch, and play, and recognize within the music. We also dance, have a free play with my mixed bag of percussion instruments, and end with either bubbles or a parachute. Most importantly, I disinfect all of the instruments before and after each class to help avoid the spread of germs (my guitar included).

Baby Music Class: for ages 3-15 months: Like the toddler class, a different style of music is introduced each week from various cultures- including ours. I incorporate familiar, educational, rhythmic songs using simple movements  with and without the guitar bonding you with your child, and a rotation of various rhythmic instruments to play with (to the actual style of music as well). We learn about basic colors and numbers, and I talk about the history of the music we're learning about to the grown-ups as well. We also dance and rotate in pairs, so the babies are able to see each other, and I end with a parachute or bubbles as well. Most of this class occurs on the floor minus the dance section, and like the toddler class, I disinfect all of the instruments and toys before and after each class (guitar included).
